Lego Pixel Art Update

Lego Pixel Art Update

A couple years back I had seen a video where someone had taken vinyl record covers and placed an NFC tag in them so they could tap the cover with their phone and it would play the album over the speaker system in the room. I wanted to take this concept but add my own artistic touch. In a previous post I described how I build my first album using 1x1 legos.

Two years and 32768 Legos later I have now finished my album wall. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I originally wanted to create my eight favorite albums but I underestimated how hard it would be to downsample the album to 64x64 pixels and still have it be recognizable. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist and not artistically inclined so this was a unique challenge for me.

After completing the albums covers the text step was to add the NFC tags so I could tap to play the music. See page below for details on how I set that up.
